Off the beaten track

Although there were a few skate opportunities the last month I still have the feeling I don´t perform as well as I know I can. Little bit tired and not enough energy flowing through my body. Sort of a stand still. Luckily yesterday evening I had myself a great thursday evening again. Did not wear myself out but learned some new sets of sequences which I repeated several times to get the feel of it. Quite funky stuff!!

After one year I see some people around me fall behind for all sorts of reasons, not because they don´t want to keep up but because they have other priorities, it´s a pity. But people spent their time on things which are important to them and that´s what counts. Everybody has different taste and preferences.

Gave my two sisters a pair of skates as a Christmas present (could not think of anything more original :-D) and they now spent their time skating around in their home and practising a lot!!!! It´s because they both attend school they cannot come to the thursday evening classes, but if they keep up like this there´s allready a new generation of talent coming up. Will take them to the new course for beginners on Sunday afternoon and whenever I can I will take them to skate venues and parties. Keep them motivated and then it´s up to them if they will follow and want to keep up. It´s the age (13 and 16) that might get them distracted easily (look at me, it took me almost 15 years to put my skates back on).

So for me it means gotta get off the beaten track again, push forward and not let the
laziness get the better of me. But I will abide the state I´m in now. Some day soon I´ll get the adrenalin rushing again and let the endorphin take me to a skater´s high (I´m there now and again hihi).

Come to think of it maybe eh.. it´s about time for me to take a short or long (even better) vacation :-)

Steady Going

Steady going

Yeah! A brand new (sk8) year. Because of the busy december holidays, there weren't a lot of skate opportunities. Except of course the Thursday lessons and the Saturday Masterclasses which I loyally attend. Extra hours in between of training my bodily condition. Lots of sleep.

Days are allready getting longer now. This means spring is coming up. I practice positive thinking (I know it's only January) :-)

No harm starting early in psyching up for the coming spring and then summerseason!!
